Rule 3: Post one time per week.
« Thread Started on Jan 30, 2007, 11:36pm »

Some time ago, after discussion with the other Admin and various players, it was decided that we needed a minimum post requirement of at least once per week. This wasn't to make your happy fun time feel like work, but to keep the flow of the RP going.

We decided this because while we know it’s tough to keep posting with real life demanding things of us, the story we’re telling can only be held up for so long before people lose interest. It’s hard enough to keep a good RP going and it's especially hard when several people in a thread are waiting on one person's post to continue.

1. Each character must now post at least once per week in an ACTIVE thread. This does not include just logging in, but an actual post suitable for the board.

2. Be fair. We're all adults here. If you are unable to post, the Admins will not chase you for reasons and the people you are hurting at this point are those in the thread with you.

We simply can’t wait forever for posts, so if you are going to be away, you MUST post in the absences thread with dates when you leave and when you’re expected back. You also should try and get your character written temporarily out of any threads they are currently involved in. Please do this even if you just need a break as a courtesy to those you are playing with.

Re: Rule 3: Post warning system.

Okay folks, the Admins are tired of chasing people for posts so to that end, I'm implementing the warning system Proboards has to give you a visual reminder you're holding up a thread.

Just to clarify how the warning system works.

  • You and the staff are the only ones who see your warning level and the notes on your profile regarding it.

  • Members in a stalled thread will not be warned wholesale because of one member - the member who is holding things up will be the only one warned and the others in the thread are free to post around them as per the once per week rule.

  • The warned member is responsible for writing their character back into the story after they return.

  • The higher your warning level, the closer you are to writing yourself out of our storyline.

  • Your warning level will only return to 0% once you keep posting consistently in the story.

  • If your level is 100%, you need to talk to an Admin as soon as possible.

We aren't heartless Admins, and there will be some leeway on a case by case basis, we just want to see the board keep moving forward and it can't do that if threads are held up left, right, and center. As adults, I'd like to think we are all capable of keeping to the simple posting standards of this forum.

I look forward to having you all prove me right.
